CykloKorytnička Cycling Route
Thematic cycling route by the track of old railway "Korytko" for kids and adults brings you to healing springs to former famous Korytnica spa.
The railway line connected town Ruzomberok with Korytnica Spa between 1908 and 1974. Track originally should had to connect Ružomberok, lying on the main railroad from Košice with Banská Bystrica, but company Mandel and Révész only built a 23,5 km long track went through valleys of river Revúca and Korytnica to Korytnica Spa. Operation on local railway started on June 5, 1908. It was initially operated by Košice-Bohumín Railway Company, since 1921 by Czechoslovak Railways. Railroad had 9 stops. Last day of operation was September 28, 1974. Track was subsequently dismantled to allow new international road have been built.
