Wooden village Vlkolínec fascinates you with its atmosphere and wonderful surroundings.

Vllkolínec is one of the jewels of the Slovak folk architecture. Its origins date back to the 14th century. Picturesque mountain village is an administrative part of the Ružomberok city. The village is reminiscent of medieval village residence with wooden architecture and continuous log houses, surrounded by forests and narrow stripes of fields and pastures. Visit the museum Roľnícky Dom, Fire Station Exposition, Children's playground. Vlkolínec belongs to UNESCO World Heritage since 1993. The number of permanent residents is very small today. Two-floor wooden bell tower from 1770, wooden well from 1860 with a depth of 13 m and baroque-classicistic stone catholic Church from 1875 are must see structures in village. The folk architecture of Vlkolínec is a typical mountainy. Basic building material is wood from the surrounding forests, stones were used only for the construction of gamers and storage rooms.
