Korytnica Spa has a rich history dated back to the 16th century. Mineral water from Korytnica has won medals at the World Exhibition in Vienna in 1873 and as the only european mineral water at the World Exposition in St. Luis in 1904. Transport connection ensured narrow-gauge railroad from Ružomberok. Spa had also famous patients e.g. Emperor Franz Joseph or Ľudovít Štúr. Spa changed ownership from government to private in 90s of 20th century during the reign of Vladimir Mečiara. The well-known Korytnica mountain spa, which were the pride of Slovakia in the past, went bankrupt in 2002 and deteriorate since that time. However it looks the times are changing now. Korytnica mineral water bottle filler was bought, as well as part of the premises by french businessman with croatian roots Zlatko Banov in 2013. He reconstructed springs, so five healing springs are open for the visitors: Vojtech I., Vojtech II., Žofia, Jozef and Anton. By reconstruction of old post building was created guest-house Svätopluk in 2016. There is also a restaurant. A playground and a car park are part of the complex. Visitors can fill unlimited volume of mineral water from restored springs for free.
