Sliač Travertines

White travertine, mineral springs and active gas.

Sliačske travertines form a massive pile of white travertine with active gas emissions (carbon dioxide). Mineral water with a distinct odor, which created whole formation, springs at the foot of a travertine pile. It has a constant temperature about 16 ° C and therefore doesn't get frozen during the winter. There is a flat marsch with typical muddy vegetation and animal life which belongs to protected area too. There is no signed tourist path to Sliačske travertins, but it can be reached from a narrow asphalt road.
