Martin Kukučín's Birth House

Martin Kukučín was born in Jasenova in 1860. He was a prominent Slovak writer, physician and traveler.

The Birth House of Martin Kukučín in Jasenová is managed by the Orava Museum. The house is located in the center of the village Jasenová, you can find it orienting by the tower of the local church. The entrance to the house introduces village life in between 19th and 20th centuries. The front room and the kitchen are furnished with original style. It shows living habits of the writer. The exhibition continues with Kukučín's literary works - you can find stories, novels, fairy tales, script stories, travelogues all written by him.
